sup world. it was overnight fishing yesterday with the army doods. Hah, considering it was my first time fishing, at least we caught 1 fish. =) ok it was not exactly me but still, it counts! i probably summoned the fish or smth. So there!
Oh btw, i watched this programme on sharks and there's really a tribe in the world who pride themselves on being able to summon sharks. basically, they use these big necklaces which are made of coconuts and start knocking them on the tiny canoe they sit on, creating rhythms to attract and summon the sharks . At first, nothing happened and the locals said something about there being too many people at the scene, the cameraman, host and all and that they were scaring away the sharks. I was laughing like mad cause it seemed like self-delusion. ( the sort everyone indulges in ) But once he left the main crew, he soon returned with footage of an encounter with a shark! p.s he had one cameraman following him in his canoe, that's how he got his footage in case you were wondering how those indigenous people get their videos. It's quite amazing how such things happen. Does belief and faith help to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN? i caps-ed those because they hold 'special' meaning to those in 'hell'.
How is belief and faith connected to superstitions?
Talking about being superstitious, does everybody have their own set of rules of what not to do too? I am not without these weird, sometimes senseless beliefs too. Like when playing jackpot, when we were in Aust, i adopted this habit of avoiding playing whenever this guy's around because he's like an object of un-luck. Or I tend to do 'good' stuff sometimes only because i believe in karma and that what goes around comes around. i think it'd be really interesting to know everyone's own set of superstitions because i'm pretty sure most of us have different sets.
Ok back to fishing with the guys. It's weird how close we are even though we got to know each other through 'hell'. Maybe because we all hate a thing or animal in common. Well, we spent alot of time trying to figure out how to attach the hooks and baits and stuff before finally casting our hopes into the murky waters just off bedok jetty. though we only got a fish and an x-men crab as rewards for our toiling through out the night, i still feel fishing is fun. Oh, there were several sick guys quite near to us. They got a couple of eels and started torturing them. Once, we heard a loud 'pop' and heard them talking about how the eel's stomach burst open. Ouch. =( Ok besides the obvious insanity of the company we had with us, we continued experimenting with our amateur fishing tactics. Hah, i think i am made for fishing. Everytime i cast a line, something happens. the line snapped once, the fishing weight got hooked onto the tip of the rod, the line also got tangled with the rod. As if we haven unentangled enough in 'hell'. Ah, but it was a positive experience to say the least. Next fishing rendezvous shall be in the day.
Sunshine returns!
